HandUp, owned and operated by the South Oakland Shelter, is an online direct giving platform providing resources for people experiencing homelessness and poverty, to meet service gaps not covered by traditional funding sources. This session will outline how organizations throughout the United States have been able to successfully raise nearly $3 million in support of their clients and why HandUp is a useful tool to engage the community in combating homelessness.
