What is the difference between equity and equality? How does implicit bias impact us, the work we do and the people we serve? Participants will gain an understanding of how systems create inequities and learn how physical and social factors contribute to the formation of unconscious biases. Participants will also explore through experiential learning activities how cultural messages contribute to the formation of cultural biases. Debiasing strategies and tools to implement equity throughout the decision making process will be briefly discussed.
